David Blum:
After making an animated film at Miquon Upper School, I moved to California to pursue a career in animation, and eventually won an Emmy award. I've been married to an artist/animator since 1982. (5/15/2007)

Rasjad Lints (was Kent Lints):
Wow - I didn't realize that Miquon was still a going concern - even if it has had a name change. I live in Vancouver, Washington with my wife Susannah of 29 years. Our son is 22 and in college. My life has taken many twists & turns (hence the name change). I'm a Pediatrician at Kaiser in the Portland area and love taking care of kids.
Jim Porter:
I was a New York taxi driver, a Philadelphia theater manager, etc. My best time was as a travel photographer in the “Communist World.” Obviously, that ended. Now I live in Los Angeles (which I hate) with my wife and two teen kids. I dream of living the city life in Philadelphia rather than the automobile existence here. (3/23/2007)
Darcy M. Swope:
Dear Friends, I was in the FIRST class at then"Miquon Upper School" when it opened it's doors under the fabulous leadership of Arnold Greenberg! While I was at Miquon for only 9th and 10th grade, those were 2 of the best/happiest years of my long academic career.I am a teacher myself now, of art to grades K-3 in an independent school in Northern Virginia, where I have been for 19 great years. I am also a practicing artist, thanks in part to my Miquon teachers, Bea McLaughlin and a Weaving instructor. GOOD memories! I will be sending you a check to cover the cost of the drawing class skeleton that is on your wish list, and wish I could do more! Alas, a teacher's salary is very limiting. Please continue your phenomenal work, and know that your system of education makes a REAL difference in the lives of so many -- I am one of them. Best wishes, Darcy.

Hugh Brenner:
I am shocked. All these years I've been thinking I graduated in '72, but looking at list, I think it was '73.
That is, if I Actually graduated at all. Hmmm. Now I'm a Nurse Practioner in Psych, I still play drums. I am consistant.
One thing I have different is a son studying film in Sweden. Address: 214 Edgemont Ave Ardmore, Pa 19003. (12/18/2006).

Becky Lash:
Thanks to Google, I'm back in touch with Miquon Upper/Crefeld. I'd love to hear more about how others are doing. After teaching third grade for thirteen years in a large public school here on the Cape, I'm now the aquarist at the Woods Hole Science Aquarium (at the National Marine Fisheries). It's great fun. I get to tend to a harbor seal, sea turtles, all kinds of fish and inverts, and at the end of the day I'm soaking wet and smell like dead squid. I've got a wonderful partner (Ellen), two step kids, two cats, two rabbits, and several reptiles and amphibians. Yup, life IS good. Address: PO Box 546 Woods Hole,MA 02543. Phone: 508-548-8294

I am so happy to connect! I am a "recovering" attorney, retired after practicing for many years in public interest law (mostly working with neglected and abused kids in the Dependency division of Family Court in Philadelphia). I am happily married to a wonderful man (Robert), throwing pots, gardening and training our Italian greyhound to be a Therapy Dog. I think of Miquon Upper School so often. It was a magical place. My years at Miquon were the foundation for an incredible life experience. I am married with 2 of the best kids in the world. I am involved in the Jewish community here in the Philly area. I would love to hear from my Miquon friends. Blessings, Ellen
Phone: 215-813-5182
Jo-Ann Mort:
I would love to hear from other Miquon alumn-faculty and students. I have fond memories of Miquon, getting me started on my crime of writing and pursuing social justice. After more than a decade working in the trade union movement as director of communications for UNITE and ACTWU, I am now head of communications for the US foundation of the Soros' Network-Open Society Institute. I am doing freelance writing, primarily around Israel/Jewish issues-spend a lot of time active as an officer of Americans for Peace Now, and am completing a book with an Israeli co-author on the privatization of the kibbutzim, which Cornell Univ. Press is publishing. I also edited a book called Not Your Father's Union Movement: Inside the AFL-CIO, published a few years ago by Verso. Unfortunately, sad to say, I no longer write poetry, but still have the literary mag we published at Miquon...

I am married to a wonderful woman, Shana, and have 4 daugters, ages 27, 23, 15, and 9. She works as a case manager doing social work for mentaly ill chemically addicted victims of domestic violence, teenage girls in danger of totally dropping out of society, and also a"fertility options" counselor for infertile couples trying to conceive. I have been an airport security screener since it went federal over 2 years ago.

Larry Cravetz:
After the collapse of my marriage (25 years isn't a bad run), I have moved to a small apartment in Norristown -- about 2 miles from the home I shared with my wife and 4 kids, who range from 6 to 26 years old as of this writing. My M.S. is still not too terrible, as I still walk, a lot! I am in touch with many of my MUS friends, like Mark Hastings, Michael Rieser, Richard Gaines, and Beth Oswald, along with others! *PLEASE* do not hesitate to get in touch, I find contact with people I knew *way back then* very comforting! ;) Phone number: 484-679-1492 (1/14/2008)
Carol Friedman:
Hi Crefeld School, attending Miquon Upper School in the 70's was an incredible experience for me. I studied pottery with "Bea" who taught pottery and puppetry. Inspired by her whimsical style and the vast possibilities clay had to offer I immediately found my gift. Since then I have diligently and passionally studied ceramics with many of the masters of our time and have gone on to teach and inspire others. (7/7/07)
Andrea Korff:
Since leaving Crefeld, and Temple, where I majored in film, I have been working in broadcast TV as a videographer. I have traveled a lot, and won several awards including several Emmy awards for my photography. In addition I have been showing my still photography at various reputable venues, after an inauspicious run at friend and fellow alum David Salkin's (class of 1979) ultra chic Millennium Coffee. I have been working at KYW TV for 19 years, and live in the Art Museum area. I am also producing documentary films on video on a freelance basis. Send me an e-mail if you have anything you want documented. Hope everyone is well.
James Wagman:
Somehow through the internet I found Miquon again. Miquon has always been a big part of my life in so many ways. I live in New York City with my wife and 2 children and have my own architectural practice that started in Miquon Lower School on "Cape Arnold". That year really defined who I am today and I am very grateful. (2/15/2008)
1977
Donna Brotman Weaver:
After graduating Miquon, I went to Hampshire College and then lived in NYC for 5 years working as a lab technician. I then went to medical school and I now practice and teach family medicine in Galveston, Texas. My husband and 2 kids recently visited alums Andi Korff, David Salkin and Jan Brotman (my sister).
Karen Hobin:
I got remarried last summer (in 2006) to a wonderful man after ten years on my own. I try to be a good mother, wife, sister, friend and lawyer.
My husband and I have four children ranging in age from 18 down to 10. As I look for high schools for my daughter to attend next year, I wish there was
another Miquon out here in Arizona. Although I was only there for a year and a half it was an amazing education and experience. I am so thankful to
have had the opportunity to attend. By the way, my mom, Sally, also lives with us (she used to work in the front office-for those who remember her).
I know that she sends her best wishes to all the alum as well and so does my younger brother Kevin who is also out here in Arizona. Take care all! (1/16/2007)
Lee S. Kirchner:
I have been married for 21 years to Hope Feigenbaum and have a son who is a senior at Lower Merion High who will be attending Penn State University Park in September. Our daughter is a freshman at Lower Merion. Miquon was the best and helped me with the
success that I have today - a great position in sales, wonderful friends, and a terrific family. (4/6/2007)
Kate Renner Pourshariati:
My time since Miquon followed a path from art school to film school to sound work on films to radio work, and at the moment I have an out of print book shop on the net,
but my three main obsessions are 1.) my 9 year old girl Minou, 2.) India 3.) the Pine Barrens. Miquon was by far the best education I have had and I will never forget the loving
dedication and respect that were so freely proferred to us all.

After Crefeld somehow managed to convince me to finish my senior year of high school, I moved to Colorado for college. From Colorado I moved to Los Angeles and have spent the last 5+ years working in internet advertising. I am finally moving back to Philly and continuing my work with UNreal Marketing. (http://www.UNrealmarketing.com) Although I am now 26, I still feel like a kid and have lots of fun. There is no way I would be as successful and happy as I am today if it were not for Rena Caref and Crefeld (Thanks). Anyone that would like to get in touch with me, please feel free to email me.

Was thinking of Crefeld today and decided to check out the website. Was pleased to see some long gone familiar names but horrified to see that I'm not even on the missing list! I finished my BA in Psychology at Temple in 2001, did lots since then and am now back in Angola working for an NGO in the area of HIV/AIDS. I think of Crefeld and all of you sometimes. Cheers.

I am back in DC working for The Man. I work with a very progressive Congressman from Arizona’s 7th District---Raúl M. Grijalva http://www.house.gov/grijalva . He is on the Committee for Education and the Workforce, and I staff him on that assignment—particularly on education. Much to my excitement, I also cover women’s issues, children, and healthcare. I have been in DC for a year and a half now and at this job for a year. I love the city, though the political environment is pretty disheartening. I swear—my boss isn’t one of the bad guys, so don’t blame me for the sad state of the country!! Don’t forget to vote in November so we can turn it all around :).

I got married in October 2007. My husband is in the United States Navy on a submarine and we are stationed in Portsmouth, NH. It's an adorable little town and I like it. I continue to work for some of my clients back in PA doing bookkeeping work remotely. Working from home is nice, but I'm looking for something else (another job/volunteering) to occupy my time. Hope everyone is well! (1/11/2008)

Hello all! I am living and working in New York City. As of now I pay the rent (in my surprisingly spacious Brooklyn apartment shared with two lovely roommates) by performing as a 'background artist' [extra] in film and tv. I got
my SAG card a little over a year ago and between auditions and acting classes I show up on sets and get paid to basically observe major productions. For photos of all of my adventures, view my MySpace page at myspace.com/brookesidkoff.
Also, keep an eye out for me on "The Maury Povich Show". Yes, you can believe your eyes. I have appeared as a reenactor of those sad stories count it, three times, thankfully not as an actual guest. NY is great and I visit home all the time. I talk to and see Patti MC whenever she is on the east coast and I am
planning a trip put west to visit her. All my best to everyone and please, keep in touch. (8/21/2007)

La Salle is pretty good so far. It's crazy to think that I am done my first semester of college!!!! It went so fast!
I haven't declared a major but I have been thinking about Social Work with a minor in Spanish. . .
Outside of my classes I have gotten involved in a tutoring program where I tutor a 2nd grader every week (All of the kids in this program are also in foster care).
Being in this was my continuation of the tutoring I did at Jenks, but my kid has a LOT more learning disabilities so although it is harder to teach him,
it is that much more rewarding and worth it. ALSO I was accepted to go on a service trip to MEXICO in May! It is called Los Ninos, and about 22 students go to
Tijuana for a week to help build a school. . .I am so glad I got picked!! Overall I am happy with school and everything else right now. Crefeld seems to have
prepared me pretty well for all this college work (especially senior year!). (2/2007)
Lawrence Pemberton :
I'm now going to Lebanon Valley college and loving it. My work is really easy compared to
senior year and all I can say is to pay attention in class and know that everything I learned at crefeld
I'm learning today and I'm so glad that I was taught some of the most essential life lessons. (12/18/2006)
