Crefeld’s Policy on College Admissions Tests:
Crefeld’s academic program prepares students to pursue higher education, and the
advisory system facilitates open dialogue with parents and students about transition to
college or other higher learning experiences. We strive to educate students about all
avenues to college and offer college/transition counseling, PSAT testing in the 10th and
11th grade years, SAT preparation in the fall of 11th grade, and SAT/ ACT testing for
students who qualify for accommodations. We know that each student’s path to higher
learning will be different, and therefore take an individual approach in developing a plan
to pursue a student’s goals. We realize that standardized testing will be a component
of this process; however, for some students, this may not be the appropriate avenue
for college admission. Therefore, registering for the SAT and/or ACT, and accessing
accommodations if appropriate, is the responsibility of each student’s family with the
support of his or her advisor, college counselor, and testing coordinator. We hope that
by providing you with information on college admissions testing it will allow you to better
understand the process.
