Coffee with the Head

If you follow Crefeld on Twitter, you know that I was sending live updates from the Progressive Education Network National Conference. I was very proud (as I always am) of the amazing work that we do at Crefeld. Sara Narva presented her Power/Play curriculum and it was well-received. I presented with Frank Rumboll, the Head of Cedar House School in South Africa about our exchange. So I invite you to follow us on Twitter, for no other reason than you will be among the first to know about snow days!

Yesterday morning, I held the first “Coffee with the Head” in my office. We had a great conversation about Tom Little’s six pillars of progressive education. While we talked about all of them, I want to share with you the first pillar, “Attention to children’s emotions as well as their intellects.”

At Crefeld, we have many supports for for our students (your children) for both their emotional well being and their intellectual curiosity. Your child’s advisor is his/her designated advocate at Crefeld. We have a clinical team consisting of eight professionals and interns paying attention to your children as well. I can say without a doubt, that we live this pillar every day at Crefeld.
