Earth Day! Every student was outside on Friday, building raised beds and composting bins, planting flowers and vegetables, and making and enjoying dandelion fritters!
What a great example of experiential learning. Getting your hands dirty and enjoying the outdoors. While many of our students love to participate in these activities and identify them as an area of strength, several students were stretching their comfort zones. However, everyone had fun.
Some comments that I heard when I was taking pictures to tweet were, “We should do this everyday!” “This is so much fun!” and “George - why aren’t you working?”
It is days like this that remind us of our impact on Earth. But perhaps most importantly, how we can have a positive impact it we so choose.
